POLICE CONTINUE TO CITE TRAFFIC VIOLATERS

Police here in New Providence continue to issue traffic tickets to motorists who fail to adhere to traffic rules.
During the past week, police throughout the capital cited ninety-three (93) drivers for various traffic infractions and placed seventy (70) matters before the Traffic Court.
Some of the offences for which persons were cited include: failing to give proper signal, turning improperly at an intersection, unnecessary use of horn, vehicle having no proper identification plates, failure to have windows of transparent view, driving in the wrong direction on a one way street, failing to replace identification plates, parking in a no parking area and parking on a bus stop.

 

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are investigating a shooting incident that has left a 25 year old male of Nassau Village in hospital.
The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 2:00 am on Monday 12th December, 2011.
Initial police reports indicate that the victim was at Nassau Street in the area of Meadows Street when he was approached by known to him and subsequently shot to the chest and leg.
The victim was taken to hospital via private vehicle where he is detained in critical condition. Active police investigations continue.
